The Charles City city council recently conducted a goal setting session to identify the important goals for the city going forward. This process is typically done every two years and helps the council to determine a budget for the next couple of fiscal years. Pat Callahan from Callahan Municipal Consultants was the facilitator for this process. City department heads gave input on their various needs for their departments in the upcoming years. Many good ideas were generated and council then narrowed down the list to about 8 items to focus on in the next two years. With such limited resources, there were some tough decisions that were made on what to include on our list of goals. The final report can be found here.
