[ARCHIVED] Monitor Water Temperatures

With temperatures forecast to be at record lows this week, please monitor your water temperature.  You can test your temperature using a standard kitchen thermometer.  If your water temperature reaches 40 F, we recommend that you run your water overnight with flow about the size of toothpick from any sink.  This will help to keep your pipes from freezing.  Leaving cupboards open under sinks can help keep indoor plumbing from freezing as well.  If you have any questions or need assistance, please contact the Charles City Water Department at 641-257-6315, or City Hall at 641-257-6300.
