In conjunction with Cabin Fever Weekend the Charles City Park & Recreation Department will be offering an open pool session for individuals interested in trying kayaking and practicing kayak skills.
The Middle School pool will be open Saturday, January 30 from 2PM - 4PM. Please bring your own equipment. Rapids End Outfitters and Crawdaddy Outdoors will provide a limited number of kayaks and equipment. Participants will be charged a $5.00 fee to cover pool costs. Charles City was the leader in building a whitewater kayaking course in Iowa, and this is an opportunity for beginners to find out how much fun it can be and for accomplished paddlers to enjoy some time in the water during a winter weekend without freezing.
