Overview
Certain business licenses are issued at City Hall, such as tree trimmers, peddlers, mobile food vendors, sales stands, and solid waste collectors.

Daily Permit: $25.00
Weekly Permit: $50.00
Monthly Permit: $100.00

*An application fee of $2.00 will be added to the total cost of each permit.
For a Temporary Sales Stand permit application, please click here. Temporary stand permit applications will be reviewed by both City staff and the Charles City, City Council for compliance with the Charles City Code of Ordinances, and such applications require the formal approval of the Charles City, City Council. This review and process may take up to several weeks.
The annual Contractor's License fee is $5.00, and it is due for renewal every December. As required by the City Code Chapter 137, a certificate of liability and bond must be submitted before a license can be issued.
The annual Solid Waste License fee is $100 and is due for renewal every April. In addition, each truck requires a $10 registration fee. A certificate of liability insurance, auto insurance, and an umbrella policy is also required, per Chapter 106.07 of the City Code.
The annual Tree Trimmer License fee is $25.00 and is due for renewal every April and requires a certificate of liability as specified in Chapter 124.02 of the City Code.
